8.6 Attempted to Use Optional Software (LAT, DUIP, IPX, Telnet 3270 or ARAP), but
Software Not Working
Attempted to use optional software such as Local Area Transport (LAT), Dial Up IP (DUIP), Internet Protocol Exchange
(IPX), Telnet 3270 (TN3270), or Apple Remote Access Protocol (ARAP), but the optional software is not working.
Do you have an Option/LAT Key?

Have you purchased this software option?
YN
Contact Cabletron Systems Sales for available options.
Do you have the purchase order number and the Physical Address (MAC address)? The address starts with:
00-80-2D-xx-xx-xx
For LAT, you also need the number of ports on the CSMIM2.
Call Cabletron Customer Service to obtain the proper Software Option Key(s).
Enter the
starts -o command.
Check the system reply to see if your Software Option Key is on.
Is the key on?

Was the reply “keyed, disables by loader” displayed?
YN
Check the Software Option Key code to ensure that the syntax is correct. Input for the code is case sensitive.
NOTE: Zero and capital letter O, lower case i and 1, lower case g and q are often entered incorrectly.
Is the entry correct for your option?
YN
Enter the correct code taking care to use the proper syntax. Reboot the CSMIM2.
Is the software now available when you enter a stats -o command?
