8.4 Booted, but Cannot Ping or Telnet
The CSMIM2 booted, but you cannot ping or Telnet to a host.
Can you ping any IP address or host?
YN
Check the channel connection in the hub.
Is the CSMIM2 connected to an active channel (A, B, or C)?
YN
Move the CSMIM2 to an active channel.
Now can you ping the CSMIM2?
YN
Check for duplicate IP addresses.
Is there a duplicate IP address?
YN
Did the CSMIM2 boot via Maintenance Operations Protocol (MOP) from a VMS host?
YN
Call Cabletron Technical Support.
Was the CSMIM2 programmed with an IP address?
YN
Program the CSMIM2 with an IP address. Then reboot.
Can you ping or Telnet to the host?
YN
Call Cabletron Technical Support.

Reassign the IP addresses to eliminate duplicate addresses. Then reboot the CSMIM2.
