Terminology

This section defines several terms used in this

guide to describe Cabletron Ethernet hub and

board model types.

Hub Chassis

The software model representation of an MMAC

with no boards installed in its slots. An MMAC

chassis can have three, five, or eight slots.

Media Interface Modules (MIMs)

The software model representations of boards

installed in an MMAC hub chassis. For the

purposes of this guide, the term MIM will
